Read this on this interesting blog written by Vincent from Tribal DDB in London. IBM does a paper on the scare of how the new media is threatening the existence of its traditional brethren!

lifetakesvisa.com, a similar initiative as the drink companies; ofcourse for VISA and it launches tommorow. seems like this one would be interesting, with lots of content.... I remember this friend of mine who shared this with me some days back saying,' today every brand is a media brand'. Brands are no longer only looking for other mediums to piggy back ..they are becoming media themselves ..but ofcourse its easier said than done!

The Sublymonal Project - Coca Cola Beverage Brands have been exploring some fun in the web 2.0 space for a while, but recent efforts have all fallen flat as brands try to pull off audiences on sites that would not connect with consumers. Bud.tv is a good example with millions flushed in and little visitors. sublymonal.com by coke has been a similar effort, but some believe that pepsi's mountaindew.com has done the trick. Saw some interesting videos, but how much can brand sites connect with users? not much i'd believe, we're still used to seeing brands in adverts!

went to the paidcontent UK launch yesterday, the european digital boom is picking up with American media outfits establishing European arms.
was reading clickz's article on Yahoo partnering with Bebo on advertising with the social networking site in the UK. earlier this year Ogilvy in the US partnered with Technorati to track content for their clients. The interesting mish mash of advertisers, publishers and service providers all of whose definitions now remain vague is tilting towards getting social media pay for its attention... would be nice to see how it delivers!

was checking out veoh.com, probably one of the highest resolution videos collection!

Was just reading about the gphone from google ..one of the biggest speculations in the telecoms sector, it's interesting when I think of Nokia in this respect, the company just launched an online music service .... A telephone maker is preparing to get into the internet services business and a internet service provider in the telephone (product) business. fast growing businesses are having to explore faster revenue streams at the same time!

This is an interesting venture: "Scholar Ship", a floating university that runs on a cruise liner takes business program for students from around the world. The program is in partnership with six universities including popular names like the University of California at Berkley, Cardiff in the UK and Macquarie from Australia. The concept has quite put internationalization and experiential learning to practise.

shaadi.com, an Indian marriage arranging website advertises on the London Tube to reach out to the Indian community looking for suitable partners ..
Fast Company talks about 17 year old Ashley Qualls, whose built whateverlife.com a site that provides customised layouts to girls for their myspace pages.. it reaches some 7 million people and already quotes valuation in millions. Sounds like a cool idea, never thought of it ..but the challenge could be in scaling the property .. it's more entertainment media than anything else!
