Novatium co founded by Rajesh Jain .. plans to get citizens on the other side of the digital divide wired... a plan that has been doing the rounds with many companies including MIT's Media Lab and interestingly all been funded from American venture capital ... its insane how money is spent and earned in the same part of the world irrespective of where ideas and there operations take place.
The Nielsen Net Rating team explaining how the concept of page views is getting obsolete with users spending more time with their community pages ..engagement time should be the measure now..some people like Tariq Krim of Netvibes predict an end to multiple page browsing on the internet.

The Internet is changing the proffession of PR or Public Relations as it was, companies are now as mindful of their image on consumer created social media like blogs, forums and video sharing sites as much as they are concerned of the main stream media. CIC is a company cashing on this boom in China, they've been many more like Inteliseek and Umbria in the US ..the media landscape is changing but the there are so many stakeholders in this 'New Media' that its hard to manipulate as in the days of monolpolised media ... Fair media might just be arriving in the true sense of the term!

The Media scene is changing phenomenally with the internet, no longer do people want to hear from monopolised media entities. But this one is a cross over, manuscripts of writers are uploaded for people to vote which one they think is the right choice for publishing. Smart idea to take the headache away from the publisher to take shots with what they think the audience will like ...but like all other community platforms on the internet, what matters is participation!

Rebtel, a stockholm based start up allows users to call on local rates internationally. I was trying it for a call from the UK, they seem to be charging me around 8p on top of the local rates ..it ends up being the price I'd pay on a calling card ..infact more expensive. There has to be reason the world is not calling global at local rates!
