Traditional Scottish attire, with the classic Kilt and the Bagpiper ... for years after the Scottish Union with England, the Bagpiper was banned as it was considered a form of protest. Bagpipers were traditionally blown to announce the preparation of war, in the warring community of scots.

The music is now helping some earn their livelihoods.

Fake cola's in the United Kingdom!

One of Scotland's oldest Beers .... Caledonia is the name the Roman Empire gave to Scotland ... wonder who started it, back in 1556.

There are few places in the world where you could find such a notice outside a bar. This is Glasgow, home to the Rangers and Celtic football club ... it's the religion they have here ...who said religious conflicts were uncommon in the world!

A view of the scottish parliament in Edinburgh, the official quote on building it is over 4oo million pounds ... one of the biggest examples that leave the Scottish populace divided on Scotland's ability to aptly use public funds.

A Scottish faction seeks liberation from the United Kingdom, three hundred years after the union ...the scots feels it's not worth it anymore!

The Economist ran an interesting article there, Scotland is oil rich and has one of the oldest university systems in the world ...it's time to put some assets to use.

We thought only Human Rights were important in the west :)
This is in Edinburgh!

Merry X mas ...folks. Here's the mass I attended at The Barony Hall, at the University of Strathclyde.

Swedish Government is going through it's largest disinvestment plan. A little controversial issue in the nordic state, India is a country I know of that went through a failed attempt of disinvestment a couple of years ago. Sometimes its so hard to make out which countries are advanced in public policy ...if this is any show of advancement?

There is quite a lot of interest in the investor community though, one of popular company on sale is V&S Spirits, the makers of Absolut Vodka.
Scramble to lend - European Investment banks are facing challenges to keep up there prerequisites of aid to developing nations (environment, human rights and other ethical issues) as they are increasingly being undercut by chinese lenders.
The World Bank, known for its stringent regulation is concerned, recently China extended $10m of aid in Africa. Western Media says, it's China's attempt to built clout in the world, especially African countries rich in resources..... don't know what they thought of the aid coming from the west all this while.
