Jittery Europe, can't let them shop for cheap

The European Union Trade Commission, levies a 16.5% and 10% duty on footwear exports by China and Vietnam respectively. After years of stronghold with the Italians supplying shoes to the world, China faces some contradiction after WTO promised it a free trade world. Italy sighs with some relief!

Meanwhile, the market for shoe retailing in the UK is consolidating. Kurt Geiger a luxury footwear retailer, sells most brands in the hippest retail chains, so if you're buying a chloe in Selfridges or Harrods; it's the same company. I don't know what they're sourcing policy is, but I'm sure this would have a hit on them. Free trade does merit at times!
